July 22-25, 2019 - Last Week in Siena / Exams

Students have been busy working on CPTs, media assignments, and studying for their exams. We are very proud of our students who applied themselves to their studies, abided by all rules, were respectful and friendly.  We all bonded as a family and we will miss each other's company.

After exams, students spent the last few days in Siena resting, doing some sightseeing and last minute shopping. Some students visited the Basilica of San Domenico where they saw the relic of St. Catherine of Siena. Some visited the magnificent Duomo of Siena and enjoyed one last night in Piazza del Campo. We were fortunate to see the winning contrada of the July 2nd Palio- Giraffa- parade through the Campo and streets of Siena by night,  We said goodbye to the amazing staff of Hotel Moderno. They made us all feel like one big family.
We celebrated Julia's birthday on July 24th. Her table enjoyed a decadent Charlotte cake, a specialty of Nannini Pasticceria. It is a delicate cake of sponge and chantilly cream. Julia and all students went out after dinner to celebrate by strolling along Banchi di Sopra and the Campo. Julia, we are certain that your 17th birthday in Siena will hold a special place in your heart.
