July 11, 2019 - Florence- Day 1

After arriving in Siena the night before, we made our way to Florence early this morning. Our first stop was the Uffizi Gallery where we saw masterpieces from Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Botticelli, Giotto, Caravaggio and countless others. Our guide was very thorough and students were all engaged.  

We visited the Basilica of Santa Croce shortly after where we visited the tombs of such illustrious Italians such as Dante Alighieri, Michelangelo, Galileo, Machiavelli and Rossini. It is known as the temple of the Italian glories.  

Students were then given time to eat lunch, shop, and explore Florence. The night ended with dinner and  a short walk to Piazza del Campo in the evening.
